DIY: Embellished Sleeves

So, I saw this pic on Pinterest and I have been wanting to do something similar for a while.

And badda-BLING! Inspiration for awesome-easy-fun DIY project.

Essentials:
1 basic grey tee. (I got an XL from Target for $8)
1 sequin-covered shirt or scarf you no longer want. (I had a sequin top from forever21 but never wore it)
Grey thread.
Sewing machine.
Scissors.
Pins.
A killa attitude.

Do it:
Measure your sequin top to cover the sleeves of your basic tee.
Pin in place.
Cut the sequin top to fit.
Sew! I left the edges raw cuz it's easier, but you can fold the ends under for a cleaner finish.

And voila! Super-awesome-fun embellished top.

Who's excited about their project??? THIS GIRL.

Add a neon scarf for fun? okay!

**Warning! You may need to wear sunglasses to shield your eyes from all the sparkle.

MKA

Say what you will about me, I don't care.

I love Mary-Kate and Ashley.

When I was in the 2nd grade, I dressed up like Mary-Kate for Halloween and NO ONE GOT IT. *sigh.
This morning when I got my hair cut & colored, I showed the hair stylist a pic of Ashley.

Suffice it to say, I was obsessed when I was 8, and I'm still just as obsessed today.

They started out in the business at six months old on Full House, and now have three successful fashion lines as part of their multi-billion dollar company. Not to mention their mini mogul status as fashion icons at the ripe ol' age of twenty-five.

Gosh they're so fab. They have impeccable style and are geniuses when it comes to designing and selecting pieces for their collections. Not only that, with all their fame and fortune they are surprisingly and refreshingly scandal-free. Instead of merely riding the wave that is their fame, they've been hard at work since they were pre-teens, learning about the fashion industry and evolving their own personal style in front of our eyes.

I love their unique style. They push boundaries, make their own rules, and stay true to themselves -- all the while rocking sky-high heels and their trademark large round sunglasses. While they're known for their quirky, shabby-chic street style, their red carpet choices somehow manage to set their slight frames (MK is 5'1 and Ash is 5'2) above the rest. When they were younger, Ashley was the "girly" one and Mary-Kate was the "tomboy," and though obviously their styles have evolved, you can still see a small difference between the two. And yes, I can tell them apart.

Here are two fun sites dedicated to the stylish duo:

And HEY-OO. Their younger sister Elizabeth has been in four indie films this year, and has quite the style herself:
